We are pleased to announce that AsstrA Vilnius, the part of the logistics company AsstrA Associated Traffic AG, has been awarded the Green Kilometers Certificate 2023 by LTG Cargo. This certificate recognizes AsstrA's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint through intermodal freight transport by rail.
It is estimated that logistics accounts for around 10-15% of global CO2e emissions. Throughout 2023, AsstrA's strategic partnership with LTG Cargo resulted in a significant reduction of 330 tones of CO2e emissions.
The Green Kilometers Certificate highlights the environmental advantages of intermodal freight transport, particularly when utilizing railways for long-distance hauls. This method combines the safety and eco-friendliness of rail with the flexibility of road transport for final delivery, offering a comprehensive and sustainable solution.
“It is a great honor for us to receive this certificate, we have been working hard to increase our level of sustainability. AsstrA’s rail transportation presents itself as a formidable alternative to traditional modes of transportation, offering significant reductions in CO2 emissions while efficiently delivering goods across vast distances,” commented Mykolas Tokarenko, Country Sales Manager of AsstrA Lithuania.
AsstrA Associated Traffic AG is proud to be recognized for its dedication to environmental responsibility. We believe in fostering sustainable practices within the logistics industry and view this award as a springboard for further innovation.
