AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG team has successfully delivered steel channels from Luxembourg to Kazakhstan. The project involved arranging multimodal transportation and providing customs services. The transportation was arranged through Poti (Georgia) via the Trans-Caspian route.
Project: Multimodal transportation
POL: Rodange, Luxembourg
POD: Zhanaaul st, Kazakhstan
Cargo: Steel channels
Volume: 190 tons
A tight deadline was a key feature of this project. Specialists had to quickly respond and make decisions regarding timely execution of documents, supply of wagons, and provision of customs services in line with recent rule changes.
The AsstrA team accepted the cargo in Rodange, Luxembourg, and then arranged road transportation to Poti.
“Presently, there are difficulties with open-top railcar availability on the market in Georgia but the AsstrA team nevertheless managed to provide required rolling stock for the corporate client’s cargo delivery.
Moreover, it was necessary to ensure compliance with customs procedures in Poti for export,” Irina Zaika, Trade Lane Manager for Rail Freight Division at AsstrA, shares.
During transportation, the customs authorities of Poti introduced a new requirement to seal the goods. AsstrA specialists responded promptly and professionally, and the cargo was properly sealed upon arrival in Poti and duly fastened, with total transportation time not affected.
The channels were reloaded into open-top railcars and dispatched by rail from Poti to Zhanaaul station in Kazakhstan, where the cargo was delivered to the final destination.
Once again, the AsstrA team demonstrated their expertise in organizing multimodal transportation, solving customs clearance issues in the face of situational changes, and their readiness to provide clients with high-quality logistics services.
“Almost every participant in any transportation process needs assistance and support. We fully realize this fact and help businesses improve operating efficiency and reduce costs. And we do this, among other things, by means of competent use of preferential customs procedures,” Valentin Vakhrushev, Deputy COO for Customs Services CIS and Trade Department at AsstrA, comments.
“We are ready at any time to respond quickly and find workable solutions to ensure timely cargo delivery. Our clients rely on high-quality service, and letting them down is not an option,” Anastasiya Lebedeva, Sales Specialist in AsstrA Steel Logistics, sums up.
