A car retail group established in the 1920s as one of the world's first Jaguar dealerships has hailed "very respectable" vehicle sales in its latest accounts, driving turnover to almost £300m.
Ernest Hatfield began selling vehicles in Sheffield in 1922 and the business he established, today led by managing director Gareth Williams, is now one of the largest independent Jaguar dealer groups in the UK.
Hatfields operates dealerships across Yorkshire, the North West and Midlands, selling Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo brands. It employs more than 300 staff.
