Plans have been lodged for a new plant for the conversion of waste into aviation fuel with the potential to create about 130 permanent jobs.
Altalto Immingham, a collaboration between Velocys, British Airways and Shell, has submitted a planning application for a commercial waste to fuel plant near Immingham.
The proposed plant would take hundreds of thousands of tonnes of household and commercial solid waste and turn it into clean burning sustainable aviation fuel. It is expected to be Europe's first commercial scale household and commercial solid waste to sustainable fuels plant.
