Whether a shipment involves electrical appliance parts from China to the EU, pharmaceuticals from Belgium to Poland, or cosmetics from the USA, warehousing services are a core component of the logistics chain for customers in almost any industry. In April 2020, AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG opened its own warehouse for customers in Poland.
AsstrA’s 2.500 m2 warehouse is located in Błonie, 35 km from the Polish capital of Warsaw. The storage space is 10 meters high and organized into 6 levels.
The facility is A-Class. According to the Knight Frank grading scale, this category of warehouse has special features that guarantee appropriate storage conditions for all types of cargo. Anti-dust flooring can support more than 5 tons per m2. The warehouse is fully equipped with a ventilation and lighting system throughout the entire structure. 24/7 monitoring ensures cargo safety.
“By opening our own warehouse, we are leveling up our logistics offerings. With the additional cargo storage space, we can provides a comprehensive range of logistics services without intermediaries or third parties. Our customers are thus guaranteed top quality and oversight at every stage of transportation. When they work directly with us – without middlemen – they get competitive rates and optimized total costs of logistics,” says Karol Baranczuk, Deputy COO for Partial Loads at AsstrA.
At the warehouse in Błonie, AsstrA customers can take advantage of cargo storage, groupage cargo consolidation, and transshipment / cross-docking services. This is an excellent setup for transshipment schemes involving the transportation, rearrangement, and dispatch of goods from inside the warehouse without being placed in a storage area. Upon a client’s request, the corporate group’s experts can carry out overloading of oversized cargo and warehousing services for the ecommerce industry. AsstrA provides comprehensive pre-sales preparation services that include stickering goods and packaging them in primary or branded containers.
“Warehousing is yet another addition to AsstrA’s portfolio services that we provide ourselves. By bringing warehousing in-house, we are able to optimize logistics processes for existing customers and prepare to better serve future customers. The opening of our own warehouse brings us one step closer to achieving our strategic goal of becoming a Top 10 European logistics provider,” summarizes Vitali Eremenco, Deputy COO for Road Freight Transportation at AsstrA.
