Airplanes remain a popular choice for transporting cargo thanks to fast delivery times, broad geographical reach, and minimal damage or fraud risks. The International Air Transport Association has predicted that the air transport sector will resume growing in 2020, and airlines are also expected to improve their overall profitability.
In its annual prognosis, the International Air Transport Association(IATA) has said that freight volumes are expected to increase 2% year-on-year in 2020 to reach 62.4m tonnes. Overall, the IATA forecasts that the global airline industry will produce a net profit of $29.3bn in 2020, which is an improvement over the net profit of $25.9bn expected in 2019.
