On 3 November, the 69th annual Eisbeinessen was held in Hamburg. It is a traditional meeting focused on the ongoing development of the shipping industry. Attendees included distinguished experts from leading shipping, transport, and logistics companies, as well as their customers.
This year was AsstrA’s first time to sponsor the prestigious event, to which an invitation indicates trusted industry status and at which attendence reinforces the excellent reputation of participants and guests.
Eisbeinessen, which means “eating a pig's leg” in German, has been held on the first Friday of November since 1948 and honors the traditions of the Hamburg seaport. The meeting is held over dinner, during which all participants enjoy a mug of German beer, taste traditional German meat dishes, and discuss the opportunities, challenges and prospects of the sea freight market.
The meeting is organized by the Vereinigung Hamburger Schiffsmakler und Schiffsagenten e.V. (VNSS), the Association of Hamburg Ship Brokers and Agents. The number and internationalism of the event's participants is growing every year. This year, Eisbeinessen drew approximately 5,000 people from all over the world.
"We are pleased to be part of such a truly legendary event and will continue to strengthen our on-the-ground relations with German transport and shipping companies. After all, only strong and trustful relationships between all supply chain participants can guarantee successful and high-quality services for Clients, "says Julia Sadovodova, DACH and Benelux Head of Sales at AsstrA.
