On the 18th and 19th of October 2017, multinational transport and logistics provider AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG participated for the first time in Top Transport Europe, the prestigious B2B meeting for European logistics buyers. This unique trade fair is organized in a speed-dating format where participants receive brief introductions in order to meet potential business Partners and Clients.
This year, Top Transport Europe was organized for the 26th time and had over 200 exhibitors, among which 29% were new, and 250 shippers, among which 58 % were new. This event is the only of its kind in France gathering as many European suppliers and qualified shippers sourcing specific solutions to their needs. This concept of B2B appointments gives a logistics company a fast way to maximize the number of meetings with qualified contacts of companies who are in need of the specific services provided by the logistic company. The event took place in Palais du Pharo in Marseille. Head of AsstrA France&Spain Division and Country Manager Natalia Iwanowa-Kolakowska, who was representing AsstrA at the trade fair along with Magdalena Trzpil, says that the Top Transport Europe B2B meeting organizers were excellent matchmakers.
“Before the event, we invited around 50 companies to meet up at Top Transport Europe and later on the organizers gave us an intense speed-dating schedule involving 30 potential Clients in 1.5 days. The logistics providers were at their stands and buyers were scheduled to visit for 30 minutes. When time was up, the next company stepped in. The companies were been paired together according to capabilities and needs. This unique format allowed short, strictly-business discussions about the two companies can or cannot do together. These meetings were straight to the point, they were not general representative talks,” shares Ms. Iwanowa-Kolakowska.
AsstrA representatives at Top Transport Europe managed to attract new Clients who have already contracted services. AsstrA has already received several invitations to participate in logistics service tenders as a result of these B2B meeting sessions.
“We have already prepared bids for the tenders to which we were invited during Top Transport Europe. And we were delighted to see that our participation in such a high-level event improves AsstrA's reputation and status in the logistics industry. It was the first time we were at this particular event, but I meet representatives from companies who recognized us from other events we have previously attended. And guess what? We not only found new contacts, but we also managed to make a deal with very important Clients we've been wanting to do business with for quite some time,” says Ms. Iwanowa-Kolakowska.
“We barely had time for a break, but the adrenaline we got after finding new business opportunities for AsstrA in France made it all worthwhile. We will seriously consider joining Top Transport Europe B2B meeting sessions next year as well,” adds Magdalena Trzpil.
She also noted that this year many potential buyers at Top Transport Europe were searching for local, domestic French transportation providers due to increased demand for trucking operations in France.
